If I am composing an email and something goes wrong can I recover my lost text to redo the email?

eg I am advised by the Yahoo software that I need to install the new software for inclusion of photos with the body of the email rather than attaching them. My text so lovingly composed seems to have vanished. Can I recover it somehow and finalise the email?
