How to hook things up through VCR on Flatscreen TV?

Okay so we have a vcr hooked up to our tv and we want to hook up other things like the wii to the tv through the vcr. The vcr is pretty old but works fine when we hook it up to the tv and watch videos. We just can't figure out how to hook things up to the vcr and have them play on the tv. Ive done it before but I just cant remember how. Since out tv is newer you dont go to channel 3 to use it There is a input on on the remote and we press that and chose AV to watch videos.
